Think about nature

The event is free at the downtown Salt Lake City bookstore, 268 S. 200 East. Copies of his book will be available for sale. Take a birding walk

Take a GSLA birding walk along the Jordan River Parkway at 12600 South on Wednesday and look for early spring arrivals, including migrating shorebirds. The three-mile walk on a flat, paved surface will take about three hours. Beginning birders are welcome. Call Pomera Fronce at 801-272-2755 for meeting time and place.

Spot the sage grouse

Strutting sage grouse will be the stars Saturday at Emma Park, about 13 miles north of Price, at an event sponsored by the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. Viewing is best before sunrise and just after the sun has risen. DWR biologists will have spotting scopes and binoculars and can help participants find the grouse and answer any questions. For more information and directions, call Brent Stettler at 435-613-3707 or 435-613-3700.
