Description: Take the Lake Mary Trail on the right side of Brighton Center. Hike the dirt road for about 1/2 mile to the trail junction. At the junction, check out the waterfall near it and go left for Dog Lake. Visit the lake then head back to the main trail; go right at the split. The trail enters the conifers before opening into a large meadow, which offers the first view of Clayton Peak. The trail follows near the chairlift and crosses the service road into the conifers. You'll pass under two different chairlifts and come to another service road near the pass. Cross the road and follow the trail as it makes one switchback up to Snake Creek Pass. Take a needed break at the pass and enjoy the view of Mount Timpanogos and the Heber Valley. From the pass, take the service road for Clayton Peak heading northeast. At 2.6 miles into the hike, watch for the trail on the right side of the road and take it. The next half-mile is steep and difficult as you make your way over the boulder trail to the peak. Enjoy the spectacular view.
