Fundraiser - The Utah Rivers Council and REI are hosting a Jordan River float on Aug. 13 at 5:30 p.m. The family-friendly trip features canoes and kayaks, plus paddles and life jackets provided by REI. Be a friend, build a trail
Friends of Alta, the Cottonwood Canyons Foundation, the US Forest Service & REI are looking for volunteers to help with trail work and invasive weed removal at Alta on Aug. 9. Invasive weed removal will take place from 9a.m. to noon, and trail maintenance is from 1-4 p.m. Tools will be provided, but wear appropriate clothing and footwear, and bring plenty of water. Frisbee golf, anyone?
Utah Valley University has a new Frisbee golf course open to the public. The course features 13 par-2 holes ranging from 83 to 209 feet. Players can use regular Frisbees or rent a disc golf Frisbee at the course. Rental fee is $2 for 24 hours, $3 on Saturdays. The course is open daily from sunup to sundown, but the rental facility is closed on Sundays. Call 801-863-7052 for more information.
