Conference focuses on family ties

Brigham Young University in Provo will host the 40th annual Family History and Genealogy Conference July 29 to Aug. 1 at the BYU Conference Center.

The conference, "Strengthening Ties That Bind Families Together Forever," will feature more than 120 classes focusing on beginning family history, computer research, U.S. research, German research, methodology, journals and Family History Center support.

Keynote speakers include Merrill J. Bateman, former BYU president and current president of the Provo Temple; Don Anderson, Family History Department division director; and Paul Allen, chief executive of FamilyLink.com Inc.

The cost is $175 for noncredit participation and $322 for credit participation. Attendees who choose to register for credit will earn two credits of History 481R (Family History Directed Research).
