LDS Church President Thomas S. Monson was in Canada over the weekend to dedicate a new temple in Vancouver.

Monson arrived in the British Columbia city Saturday, to seal the cornerstone of the new Vancouver temple Sunday morning.

Before he was an apostle of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Monson served as a mission president for the church in Ontario, Canada, for three years.

The Vancouver temple is the 131st operating temple in the LDS Church. Another 21 are in the planning or construction stages.
