Faith In Action: Spirit of the season

St. Mark's Cathedral, 231 E. 100 South, Salt Lake City, will hold a Festival of Lessons and Carols Nov. 30 at 4 p.m. This year the service gift will go to the Holy Cross Ministries.

Choir concert

An interfaith choir concert will be held at Skyline High School, 3251 E. 3760 South, Salt Lake City, Dec. 1, 7:30 p.m. There will be performances by Christ United Methodist Church Chancel Choir, The Wesley Bell Ringers, Mount Olympus Presbyterian Church Celebration Singers, Our Saviour's Lutheran Church Adult Choir and worship team, Prophet Elias & Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church Combined Choirs, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints East Mill Creek Stake choir. Juan Diego Catholic High School will host a lecture by Linda Schaefer, a former CNN editor and photojournalist , who will speak about her work with Mother Teresa. Schaefer is the author of Come and See: A Photojournalist's Journey Into the World of Mother Teresa. The school will also unveil a bronze statue of Mother Teresa, sculpted by Betty Sabo. The event is Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. (1:30 p.m. for students, which is also open to the public).

Club meeting

The Rumi Poetry Club will meet Dec. 2 from 7-8 p.m. at the Anderson Foothill Library, 1135 E. 2100 South, Salt Lake City, to celebrate the spiritual poetry for our life and community and to discuss the Sufi thought. For more information, call 801-582-3250. Free.

Christmas program

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will hold its Latino Christmas Program, "Recibid al Rey," Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. in the Tabernacle on Temple Square, Salt Lake City. There will be music, dance and narration, as well as a Christmas message by a general authority of the church. The program will be presented entirely in Spanish with translation available via headsets in English and Portuguese. The event continues Dec. 6 at 2 and 7 p.m. Free, but tickets are required by calling 801-570-0080 or online at www.lds.org.
