"The Discovery," starring Jason Segel, Rooney Mara and Robert Redford, premiered Friday, Jan. 20, at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival in Park City. This science-fiction romance is set in a world where Segel's father (played by Redford) has scientifically proven the existence of an afterlife — leading to millions committing suicide to get there. Director Charlie McDowell ("The One I Love," SFF '14) co-wrote the script with Justin Lader; part of the Premieres program.
