There's such a barrage of reality shows swallowing up our television time, it's hard to keep track of who's schmoozing whom and who's been doing the backstabbing. Here's the cooler talk about last week's episodes of some of your favorite reality fare, written by The Salt Lake Tribune's resident unscripted-TV buffs. (Warning: Spoilers ahead. If you didn't watch last week, read at your own risk.)

Amazing Race

Sundays, 8 p.m. KUTV Ch. 2

What happened?

The nine teams kept racing through Chile, working on a fish farm and whitewater rafting. Rob and Amber won their third straight leg. With no one to prop them up, Kentucky coal miner David and his nagging wife, Mary, were eliminated.

The Barbies, Dustin and Kandice, missed the detour clue and went straight to the whitewater rafting. At the finish mat, Phil made them go back and get it. Sadly, they didn't lose any standing in the race.

American Idol

Tuesdays, 7 p.m.; Wednesdays, 8 p.m. KSTU Ch. 13

What happened?

An "American Idol" shocker! Sabrina Sloan, left, one of the best of the female singers, is flung from the group thanks to America's tone-deaf ears. And Sundance Head, the portly R&B rocker with the Brigham Younglike goatee, was booted in favor of shy and weak-willed Sanjaya Malakar. Oh, this is going to be a long season if America continues to get it wrong.

Antonella Barba, the Internet Goddess of Sexy Pictures, started gushing tears when it was announced Jared Cotter was going home. She should have saved them for herself when she got the word that she was finally leaving.

America's Next Top Model

Wednesdays, 7 pm. KUCW Ch. 30 encore Saturdays 8 p.m.

What happened?

School's in! The contestants went to a high school track to learn the art of runway walking. Minutes later they did a live fashion show in the school gym where the theme was Prom: classic, '80s and hoochie dresses. Most of the girls did well in their photo shoots. But, according to Tyra, Samantha proved a little "too green" to really bring it.

Tears started pouring as the tension and back-stabbing increased in just the second week of eliminations. Jaslene, right, especially, felt all the girls were ganging up on her as she excelled in the photo shoots, but not so much in the challenges.

Survivor: Fiji

Thursdays, 7 p.m. KUTV Ch. 2

What happened?

Last week's episode showed how lack of food and energy can rob you of your basic faculties. Ravu, deprived of food and water for weeks, lost the first challenge - a Sumolike arena combat. Then the tribe lost the immunity challenge on a memory puzzle. Rita, right, was booted as Ravu is being picked away one by one.

Best whine & cheese moment

A frustrated Rocky on Ravu is starting to lose it over the lost challenges. You could make a nice little montage scene of all of his griping, whining and cry-baby moments in just last week's episode.
