Utah Baroque Ensemble

The Utah Baroque Ensemble will perform tonight at 8 at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 331 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City. The Utah County-based ensemble includes something from the Baroque period (1600-1750) on every concert, including the Bach motet "Lobet den Herrn" (“Praise Ye the Lord"). The choir also will premiere "Praise Ye Him," a new setting of verses from Psalm 148. Suggested donation is $10; $5 for students and seniors. Proceeds will help defray travel costs on the ensemble's upcoming British tour. Billy Dean in Sandy

Billy Dean took the fast track to success after winning on "Star Search," quickly turning the win into four gold albums and hit songs like "Billy the Kid" and "Only Here for a Little While."
