Grade: A

If only the last "Indiana Jones" film had been as breathless and epic as "Uncharted 2: Among Thieves" (PlayStation 3), Sony's gripping, rollicking and beautifully-realized action adventure game that's a throwback to the movie serials of the 1930s. Everyday hero Nathan Drake is in search of the famed Shangri-La after evidence is discovered that may be Marco Polo's shipwreck. There are amazing and exhilarating set pieces (including a series of rousing fights on a moving train) with spot-on controls that make it intuitive to run, climb, leap and shoot. And it's all wrapped in the most advanced, graphically-detailed visuals ever produced for a video game. This series has never disappointed loyal fans (like a certain archaeologist we know), and this edition is one of the best games of the year.
