Grade: A-

Actor John Krasinski (Jim from "The Office") shows a dark side in his directorial debut, "Brief Interviews with Hideous Men," not to mention a strong sense of cinematic storytelling, in this adaptation of David Foster Wallace's anthology of stories of men behaving badly. The stories range from the oddly eccentric to the deeply disturbing, and Krasinski draws moving performances from the actors -- including himself -- as they wrap their tongues around Wallace's literate writing.
