The more the merrier

The Orchestra of Southern Utah announces "Making Music Together" featuring ensembles of three or more. The program includes Blaine and Kirsten Hofeling and their nine children performing "Pachelbel Meets U2"; violinists Marisa Barth and Callen Crenshaw, accompanied by pianist Mary Ann Anderson; the Southern Utah String Quartet; and others.

Piano with passion

The Chamber Music Society kicks off a new season with Trio Solisti. The young piano trio has earned a reputation for its passionate and adventurous performances. On the bill are the Ravel Trio in A Minor, "The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires" by Astor Piazzolla and the trio's arrangement of "Pictures at an Exhibition" by Mussorgsky.

Praise the Lord

Utah Gospel Music Ministries will hold its third workshop, open to singers, songwriters and instrumentalists from Utah. They will learn to develop, enhance and display their talents for the ministry in gospel music. The event culminates in a concert of original gospel compositions followed by an award ceremony for best song in different categories.

Svengali

A new local jazz group, the Svengali Jazz Quartet, will be featured during the monthly Art Stroll. Led by Kevin Flynn on alto sax, with Dan Waldis on piano, Matt Clayton on bass and Mitch Lee on drums, the guys will perform a mix of up-tempo songs and ballads.
