Visual art notes: Henri Moser's vibrant art on exhibit at gallery

Wild world

The Salt Lake Police Department is getting into art. Its Glendale community art gallery is the site of a new group exhibit culled from the Hogle Zoo annual show featuring works on an animal theme. Drawings, paintings and mixed-media works are on display in the multiuse building, offering a good reason to visit or become more acquainted with what Glendale has to offer.

Portrait class

Moser at Williams

Williams Fine Art features the work of Utahn Henri Moser, whose work is Fauvist- and Picasso-inspired. Moser, who lived abroad and in the Beehive State, eschewed representational colors for bold expressionist ones. Tom Alder, curator, wrote his thesis on Moser and is available for consultation during the two-week exhibition. Many works from the Moser estate will be on sale.

Library show

Art at the Main features the work of Salt Lake pastel artist Diana Stover, whose work comprises a visual travelog of England, Kentucky and the Grand Canyon, among other places. "Places to Go, People to See" features work done en plein air or from photographs.
