Fans of Janet Jackson have missed her much.

They've REALLY missed her much.

No need any longer.

After initially postponing some previously scheduled shows from her Unbreakable tour (including Salt Lake City in October, 2015), then ultimately canceling rescheduled ones (including SLC in June, 2016) due to her pregnancy, the pop star has announced a new four-month, 56-city State of the World tour, which will include a Monday, Oct. 16 show at Vivint Smart Home Arena.

Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. at the arena box office, by phone (801-467-TIXX; 1-800-888-TIXX), and via Smith's Tix.

Tickets held from previously scheduled shows now set for new dates will be honored.

This tour — which begins Sept. 7 in Lafayette, La., and wraps Dec. 17 in Atlanta — will effectively act as a continuation of her last one, which came on the heels of her latest album, 2015's "Unbreakable." It is expected to feature songs from "Unbreakable," select greatest hits spanning her career, and some soon-to-be-released new tracks as well.

Jackson is a six-time Grammy award winner with more than 160 million album sales to her credit, and is best known for songs such as "What Have You Done for Me Lately," "Nasty," "Rhythm Nation," "Escapade" and "That's the Way Love Goes."
