"The Last Word," starring Shirley MacLaine as Harriet, a retired businesswoman who's used to controlling everything around her, made its premiere Tuesday, Jan. 24, at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. When Harriet decides to write her own obituary, to tell her story her way, she enlists a young journalist (Amanda Seyfried) who tries to find the truth. Directed by Mark Pellington ("Going All the Way," SFF '97; "U2 3D," SFF '07; "I Melt With You," SFF '11), written by Stuart Ross Fink; part of the Premieres program. Case includes AnnJewel Lee Dixon, Anne Heche and Thomas Sadoski.
