"Novitiate," in which writer-director Maggie Betts follows a nun-in-training (Margaret Qualley) as she deals with faith, sexuality and the changes in the Catholic Church during the Vatican II era, made its premiere Friday, Jan. 20, at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival in Park City. The film also stars Melissa Leo, Julianne Nicholson, Dianna Agron and Morgan Saylor; part of the U.S. Dramatic competition.
