$14.99 per bottle • Apples that might have gone to waste this fall were harvested from Utah backyards, pressed and naturally fermented into this hard cider, a collaboration between Mountain West Hard Cider Co. and Green Urban Lunch Box. This high-alcohol beverage, with 9 percent alcohol by volume, is unique as it contains more than 20 varieties of apples, giving it strong apple aromas and flavors. Other Mountain West ciders contain between six and eight varieties. Lunch Box was fermented with natural yeasts and bottle conditioned, giving it a natural carbonation. A portion of sales from each 750-ml bottle — only 2,000 were produced — will be donated to Green Urban Lunch Box, a nonprofit that harvests fruit from local, suburban trees and donates suitable fruit to food pantries.
