Rolando Villazón, the tenor soloist on the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's recent recording of Handel's "Messiah," will do double duty as soloist and narrator in the choir's popular Christmas concerts Dec. 8-10, plus a broadcast of "Music and the Spoken Word" Dec. 11.

Free tickets for the performances in the LDS Conference Center in downtown Salt Lake City, which also feature the Orchestra at Temple Square and Bells on Temple Square, become available to the public Saturday, Oct. 15, at 10 a.m. at lds.org/events. It's first-come, first-served this year, a departure from the lottery system of the past few years. (A news release cited processing delays and other glitches.) Each patron can request four tickets.
