An estate sale at the home of the late Salt Lake City businesswoman Merline Clark Leaming at her Michigan Avenue home will be held on Thursday through Saturday. The house will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Leaming, her husband, George, and her brother launched the Clark Leaming Furniture Company in the 1950s. Over a long career, Leaming was noted for her eye for beauty, her entrepreneurial flair and her generosity in launching the careers of generations of designers. She passed away in January at the age of 95.

"We're basically selling everything in the home," says Rob Dubberly of Legacy Estate Sale Company. "It's full of mid-century modern furniture, like a museum of midcentury modern design. It's almost like stepping back in time to the '60s and '70s, with pieces you would usually see in New York, not Salt Lake."

Included in the estate sale, at 2497 Michigan Ave., are the family's art collection, which includes works by Utah artists LeConte Stewart and Randall Lake, as well as Gary Collins.
