Black Island Farms

The Black Island Farms Harvest Festival includes what's billed as the state's largest corn maze, this fall celebrating a new attraction, Turkey Races. There's also a pumpkin patch and hayride, a 5-acre courtyard with farm-themed activities and an indoor/outdoor Nightmare Acres haunt on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

Pumpkin Carving Contest - Pumpkin Walk

Carved, painted and decorated pumpkins can be dropped off from noon-6 p.m. The pumpkins will be displayed at the pumpkin walk on Oct. 29. Cash prizes will be awarded to contest winners. Visit for information.

This annual event is centered on comic book and movie characters, with a special "All Hallows Read" planned. Also new this year is a Pumpkin Drop contest; applications are being accepted and may be found at www.clearfieldcity.org.

Carnivore Carnival

Ogden's George S. Eccles Dinosaur Park is decorated for Halloween, with a haunted forest and prehistoric spooks at a special evening carnival, the only time you can visit the park in the dark.
