"Funny how time flies..."

Tears for Fears, led by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith, representing their corner of the '80s New Wave movement in fine form, performed a sold-out show Tuesday to close the Red Butte Garden summer concert season in Salt Lake City.

The 15-song set, starting with one of the band's biggest hits, "Everybody Wants to Rule the World," and ending with another, "Shout," also included a healthy dose of songs from "The Hurting," the band's 1983 debut, and a cover of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean."

The English band had originally been set to perform at Red Butte in July, but postponed its U.S. tour due to a "family illness." In announcing the rescheduled autumn tour, including the Red Butte stop, the band said it was working on a new studio album due in 2017, the first since the 2004 release of "Everybody Loves a Happy Ending."
