More than 57,000 people attended last year's Park City Kimball Arts Festival on historic Main Street. It is Utah's original, longest running visual arts festival featuring glass, ceramics, jewelry, metals, fiber, mixed media, painting, photography, drawing, printmaking, wood and sculpture. The 3 day event is the Kimball Art Center's largest annual fundraiser and it starts Friday, August 12 at 5 p.m. and runs until Sunday, August 14 at 6 p.m.

1. NEW ARTISTS

More than 220 artists representing 33 states and Canada will participate in this year's Kimball Arts Festival with about 60 percent new to this year's event.

"We're showcasing the most talented artists in their respective fields to bring to our annual Arts Festival and raised the bar on programs like Taste of Art and Festival After Dark. As the largest three-day event in Park City during the summer, we work year-round to come up with innovative ways to create a multi-sensory experience for all of our patrons," noted Robin Marrouche, Kimball Art Center's Executive Director.

2. YES, YOU CAN GET A DRINK WHILE LISTENING TO LIVE MUSIC

More than thirty live musical acts are scheduled to perform on 3 stages throughout the weekend. There are several food and beverage concession areas with the largest beer garden on Heber Avenue at the Kimball Stage. The Taste of Art Program showcases Park City's incredible restaurants, cafes and eateries. The Park City Kimball Arts Festival collaborates with these restaurants in various ways by organizing special promotions and pricing specials exclusively for Arts Festival weekend to promote local dining experiences.

3. STAY AND PLAY IN PARK CITY

4. MAKE AND TAKE FOR KIDS

"The world is but a canvas to the imagination," said Henry David Thoreau.

Kids can design their own drawstring backpack, decorate their own sun visors, get their faces painted, and take Polaroid photos in the kids' art area. Parents and friends are encouraged to stay with kids and participate in the creative process. There will be volunteers on hand to help too.

5. MORNING SUN SALUTATIONS

Back by popular demand is weekend morning yoga. Yoga instructors will lead you through a one hour gentle yoga session to embrace your creative soul. YogaFest is complimentary each morning with your Park City Kimball Arts Festival wristband.

6. FOODIE FUN

It's the one time of year food trucks are allowed in Park City. Get ready to visit the Food Truck Round-Up at the top of Main Street to sample a wide array of local food from some fantastic culinary artisans. With the slow, farm to table movement growing in popularity, the Kimball Art Center once again offers a Utah Artisan Tasting at the festival. This area features Utah small hand-crafted food producers who diligently source their raw materials and create high quality award-winning products.

7. FESTIVAL AFTER DARK

There's plenty to do near Park City after dark for all ages and interests such as the PRCA Rodeo at the Summit County Fair and a Sundance Institute Summer Film series free screening of Sonita at City Park both on Friday, August 12. On Saturday, August 13, at 7 p.m. Deer Valley Resort's Snow Park Amphitheater with feature a live concert by Brandi Carlisle.
