A cavalcade of Utah authors are visiting The King's English on Tuesday to discuss their works and mark the release of Jennifer A. Nielsen's "Rise of the Wolf."

The world of Rome, treacherous enough in reality, is made more so by the magic Nielsen adds, revolving around a powerful amulet that once belonged to Julius Caesar. Slave boy Nic found the ancient "bulla" in "Mark of the Thief," and now in "Rise of the Wolf" finds his life on the line, threatened by a powerful group that wants to tear the empire apart. It'll come down to a chariot race to decide the fate of Nic and everything he loves.

Places in Nielsen's signing line are reserved for those who purchase a copy of "The Rise of the Wolf" from The King's English.

Nielsen will be joined by fellow local authors with recent releases:

• Lindsey Leavitt, "The Pages Between Us," January 2016

• Sara B. Larson, "Endure," the final volume of the Defy trilogy, December 2015

• Frank Cole, "Afterlife Academy," September 2015

• Bobbie Pyron, "Lucky Strike," February 2015

When • Tuesday, 7 p.m.

Where • The King's English, 1511 S. 1500 East, Salt Lake City
