Vote now for Park City chef and food festival

Briar Handley, the chef/owner of Handle in Park City, and the annual Park City Food and Wine Classic have been named finalists in two separate national competitions. To win, they need Utah fans to vote online.

Chef • Wednesday, April 8, is the last day to vote for Handley, a contender in Food & Wine Magazine's Best New Chef competition. He is one of 10 finalists in the Southwest region. Handley, who worked at Talisker on Main before opening his restaurant, gets praise from Food & Wine editors for "presenting familiar ingredients in wonderfully unexpected, often contrasting ways." Plus, he's an ace motorcycle mechanic. To vote for him, go to foodandwine.com/blogs/2015/04/01/the-peoples-best-new-chef-southwest-chefs .

Festival • The Park City Food & Wine Classic is a finalist in USA Today's 10 Best Readers Choice travel awards competition. The annual event, in its 11th year, is a contender in the Best General Food Festival category, earning kudos for its offbeat class offerings such as Vino and Vinyasa, which pairs wine and yoga; SUPs and Suds (stand-up paddle boarding with beer); and Gallop & Grill (horseback trail rides with barbecue). Fans have until Monday, April 13, to vote at 10best.com/awards/travel/best-general-food-festival .
