Utah teens will soon have a film festival of their very own.

The Utah Film Center, partnering with Spy Hop and SHIFT, is launching the first TiltShift Festival, set for April 24-26.

The film and media-arts festival is being organized and programmed by teens, to find work for a teen audience.

TiltShift will start with an invitation-only opening-night event on Friday, April 24, at The Leonardo, 209 E. 500 South, Salt Lake City. It will continue with screenings and workshops Saturday and Sunday, April 25-26, at The City Library, 210 E. 400 South, Salt Lake City.

The Utah Film Center has enlisted a nine-member Teen Committee to help program the film line-up, create interactive workshops, market the festival and work on event operations.

"We thought in order to create an interesting and engaging event for a teen audience we needed to have teen voices and perspectives represented in the planning process," Patrick Hubley, artistic director of the Utah Film Center, said in a statement. "We have a great group of teens working with us and we're excited to see it all come together."

More information will be forthcoming on the festival's website.
