Neon Trees returned to Provo for a free homecoming party Friday, part of the popular Rooftop Concert Series, celebrating its 5th anniversary.

Two other popular Provo bands — The Blue Aces and Fictionist — also performed. To accommodate the larger crowd, the series moved the stage to Center Street in front of Nu Skin's Innovation Center.

Provo also threw a Shop & Meet event downtown from 5 to 8 p.m., while BYU hosted Utah State in football later in the evening at LaVell Edwards Stadium.

The Rooftop Concert Series and Google Fiber worked in secret to add Neon Trees to the lineup, only announcing the chart-topping band's appearance on Wednesday.
