Bountiful Elementary School is going green. Students brainstormed 10 ways to improve the environment one person at a time, including conserving electricity, water and paper, reusing plastic bottles, and packing their lunches in a box instead of using a paper bag, and planting trees. When each student completes eight of the 10 items, they will receive a Going Green bookmark embedded with seeds for an herb garden.
Snow Horse Elementary in Kaysville celebrated Earth Day by having a "no-paper day" last week. Students used computers, whiteboards and other electronic teaching tools instead of burning through paper. The purpose was to reduce waste and cut expenses.
