Why is Kaskade only No. 30 on D.J. ranking?
The legendary DJ Magazine's annual list of Top 100 DJs has just been released, and University of Utah-educated Kaskade comes in at No. 30 (which seems a little insulting, frankly). He finished at the same number last year, but has had a massive 2012, with him selling out the Staples Center, becoming the first EDM artist to do so.
In addition, he won DJ Times' poll "America's Best DJ 2011."
Here is the entry about him:
An excerpt from the above:
Ryan Raddon's rise from purveyor of deep, soulful house music for the likes of San Francisco's Om Records to euphoric stadium gauge EDM (taking in remixes for the likes of Katy Perry and collaborations with Skrillex) has been approaching meteoric, not to say somewhat surprising."It's been the biggest year of my career, that's for sure," he says. He embarked on his 'Freaks Of Nature' tour, which saw him playing to stadium crowds, as well as playing slots high on the bill at Coachella, Ultra and the Electric Daisy Carnival. "The level of interest in dance music over here has never been higher," he reckons.
