Weekend Express: Youth parade, Jell-O fights, giant slip-n-slide, llamas

Days of '47 Youth Parade and Family Festival • The annual Youth Parade and Family Festival take place in downtown Salt Lake City on Saturday. For more information on Days of '47 events, go to http://www.daysof47.com.

When and where:

• Youth Parade begins 10 a.m. Saturday at 600 East and 500 South and goes west to 500 South and 200 East, ending at Washington Square

• Family Festival goes from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at Washington Square

Admission: Free

Urban Arts Festival • This festival showcases hundreds of artists, performers and musicians along with skateboarding demonstrations, urban gardening demonstrations and more. Information, http://www.urbanartsfest.org/.

When: 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday

Where: The Gateway, 400 W. 100 South

Admission: Free

Slide the City • Ride a thousand-foot-long slip-n-slide down Main Street on Salt Lake City's Capitol Hill. Information, http://www.slidethecity.com/event/salt-lake-city.

When: Noon-7 p.m. Saturday

Where: Main Street between North Temple and 300 North

Registration: Starts at $20 for sliding

Jiggle Fest • This celebration is dedicated to Utah's favorite food — Jell-O — and its cousins such as funeral potatoes and fry sauce. Jell-O fights begin hourly starting at 10:30 a.m. Information, http://www.thanksgivingpoint.org/events/jigglefest.

When: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday

Where: Thanksgiving Point Farm Country, 3003 N. Thanksgiving Way, Lehi

Admission: Adults $15, children ages 3-12 and seniors 65 and older $12

Ice Block Day at Hogle Zoo • Chill out while watching your favorite zoo animals enjoy special frozen treats to beat the summer heat. Information, http://www.hoglezoo.org/event_registration/?ee=34.

When: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday

Where: Hogle Zoo, 2600 E. Sunnyside Ave.

Admission: Adults $14.95, seniors 65 and older $12.95, children ages 3-12 $10.95

Ogden Pioneer Days • PRCA Rodeo, Farm Day in the City, Miss Rodeo Utah Horsemanship Competition and more. Information, ogdenpioneerdays.com.

8 a.m. Farm Day starts at the downtown Ogden Amphitheater on 25th Street

2 p.m. Miss Rodeo Horsemanship Competition at the Golden Spike Arena, 1000 N. 1200 West

7:30 p.m. PRCA Rodeo at Ogden Pioneer Stadium, 668 17th St.

Admission: $5-$40

Fire on the Water • Food, live music, kid zone, hot dog eating contest, parade of lights at dusk, fireworks. Information, http://www.gohebervalley.com/Fire-on-the-Water.

Where: Jordanelle State Park, Heber City

Admission: $17 per carload up to eight people

When: 5-8 p.m. Saturday

Where: Krishna Temple, 8628 S. State Road, Spanish Fork

Admission: Adults $3, children $1

Utah Olympic Park Western Day • Barbecue, games, bounce houses, a mechanical bull and live music. The first 100 guests get a free cowboy hat. Information, utaholympiclegacy.com.

When: Noon-4 p.m. Saturday

Where: Utah Olympic Park, 3429 Olympic Parkway, Park City

Admission: Free

Hummingbirds Day • Learn about and watch these beautiful little birds. Registration required by calling 801-721-9569.
