The Salt Lake Tribune has launched a monthly online book club called Utah Lit and you're invited to participate.

For the slowed-down pace of lazy August days, the Tribune’s Utah Lit book club will talk about our home, thanks to the essays and poems collected in “Utah Reflections: Stories From the Wasatch Front.”

The book includes pieces by local writers, such as the state’s poet laureate, Lance Larson, who writes about “Looking for Spiral Jetty,” as well as a poem called “February 14” by Katharine Coles, and excerpts from books by Pam Houston and Terry Tempest Williams. A few of the other writers features are Sylvia Torti, Lynn Kilpatrick, Stevan Allred and J. Scott Hale.

The book, published by The History Press, was edited by Sherri H. Hoffman, Kase Johnstun and Mary Johnstun. The Tribune will publish a feature about the book on Sunday, Aug. 24, and will hold an online TribTalk at 12:15 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29, moderated by Jennifer Napier-Pearce. Post comments and questions about the book at Facebook/UtahLit or send them in email to ellenf@sltrib.com or jnpearce@sltrib.com.
