Utah appeared to receive some good news Wednesday afternoon, with junior college transfer Kaelin Clay tweeting the following:
<blockquote class=”twitter-tweet” lang=”en”><p>FINALLY IM CLEARED</p>— Kaelin Clay (@CALiboy4) <a href=”https://twitter.com/CALiboy4/statuses/484431864413691904”>July 2, 2014</a></blockquote>

Head coach Kyle Whittingham said last week that they were still waiting for Clay to clear one academic hurdle, relating to a single class. He had hoped for a decision soon so that Clay could be involved in summer activities.
Clay is a 5-foot-10, 188-pound burner who has one year of eligibility remaining. At Mt. San Antonio College last season, he led the SCFA Central Conference in receiving yards (995) and touchdowns (16). Clay was also a standout kickoff and punt returner.
His addition would provide further depth to a wide receiver mix that includes senior Dres Anderson, junior Kenneth Scott and speedy sophomores Delshawn McClellon and Dominique Hatfield.
Utah’s compliance office was not immediately able to confirm that Clay had been cleared. Clay did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
