'Alien'

The 1979 science-fiction classic "Alien," about a spacegoing mining vessel's encounter with a deadly lifeform. Part of the Tower Theatre's Summer Late Nights series.

'Khumba'

The animated tale "Khumba," about a zebra who is rejected by his superstitious herd and must team up with a wildebeest and an ostrich to get back his stripes. Part of the Utah Film Center's Tumbleweeds program.

A broadcast from London of the National Theater's production of "King Lear," directed by Sam Mendes ("American Beauty") and starring Simon Russell Beale as Shakespeare's aged monarch.

'Holes'

The 2003 family comedy "Holes," about a luckless teen (Shia LaBeouf) who must dig holes at a prisonlike summer camp. The film starts at 3 p.m.; crafts and activities start at 2 p.m. Presented by the Park City Library and the Park City Film Series as part of the Books 2 Movies series.

'ParaNorman'

The animated comedy "ParaNorman," about an 11-year-old who can speak to the dead — and must confront zombies and a witch's curse to save his town. Part of the Utah Film Center's Damn These Heels! program.

'Transvisible: The Bamby Salcedo Story'

The documentary "Transvisible: The Bamby Salcedo Story," which looks at the life of the Latina activist and icon of L.A.'s transgender community. Presented by the Utah Film Center as part of the year-round Damn These Heels! program.

'Wall-E'

The Pixar tale "Wall-E," about a plucky robot cleaning up a polluted Earth, who discovers love with a newer robot.

'David'

The drama "David," about an 11-year-old son of an imam who befriends a group of Jewish kids.

'The Case Against 8'

The documentary "The Case Against 8," which goes behind the scenes in the legal battle to overturn California's ban on same-sex marriage. After the screening, Doug Fabrizio (of KUER's "RadioWest") will interview Jeff Zarrillo and Paul Katami, two of the plaintiffs in the case.

'Scott Pilgrim vs. the World'

The 2010 comedy "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World," about a normal geeky guy (Michael Cera) who meets the girl of his dreams (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and must battle her seven evil exes to prove himself worthy. Part of the Tower's summer movie series.
