Police on Sunday identified the victim of a homicide in Kearns as 49-year-old Theodore B. Kelbach.

Kelbach was shot Saturday evening near 5400 S. Nez Pearce Drive. The Unified Police Department is still searching for a suspect.

Witnesses told police Saturday that they saw a man leave the home and get into a silver 4-door passenger vehicle with a sunroof, according to Lt. Justin Hoyal, of the UPD.

Police didn't release any further details Sunday.

According to tweets from UPD, the suspect is a Polynesian man between 20 and 30 years old, with long, curly black hair worn in a ponytail. He was also wearing a red shirt.

Anyone with tips or information related to the shooting is asked to call the UPD at 385-468-9817.
