Tributes to ELO, Lennon join Deer Valley calendar

Two additional performances have been added to this summer's Utah Symphony | Utah Opera Deer Valley Music Festival.

The Orchestra, performing hits from '70s hybrid rock and orchestral group Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) and starring former ELO members, will appear July 25.

"Just Imagine," a John Lennon tribute starring Tim Piper with backing band Working Class Hero, will be presented July 26. The multimedia concert includes Lennon's songs and the stories behind them.

The Utah Symphony will not perform at these concerts.

A presale for subscribers, donors and groups will begin Monday at 10 a.m.; call 801-533-NOTE (6683). Single tickets will go on sale to the public on Thursday at 10 a.m., at deervalleymusicfestival.org and 801-355-ARTS. —

Head for the hills

The Deer Valley Music Festival will include two new dates. The Utah Symphony sponsors the festival but will not appear on these concerts.
