Leah Hogsten | The Salt Lake Tribune Zabiha Grill's Chicken Tikka Masala of chicken breast barbecued in a tandoor oven, then cooked with bell pepper, onion, garlic, ginger, tomatoes, cream and spices.

Chicken tikka masala ($11) • If you ever thought chicken tikka masala was a dish approximating no more than tinned tomato soup, cream and cumin, think again. Sure, it’s an Anglo-Indian hybrid of a dish, but that shouldn’t mean it wimps out on depth of flavor. At Zabiha Grill, chef and owner Farukh Qazi whips up a mean curry favoring organic halal chicken from the adjoining Zabiha Market. The finished product is one of the best in the Salt Lake Valley, packing a punch of flavor, heat and vibrancy. Zabiha Grill • 3460 S.
