A 40-year-old man was killed during a shooting in Magna Sunday night.

Unified Police responded to a home near 3800 S. and 8100 West around 8:47 p.m. after gunshots were reported in the area, UPD Lt. Justin Hoyal said.

Witnesses said a short, thin Hispanic man in his 30s got out of a four-door gray Chevy Malibu and shot multiple rounds at the 40-year-old man outside a house. The victim was transported to the hospital in extremely critical condition where he died, Hoyal said.

Police are searching for the suspected shooter as well as the driver of the Malibu, who was described as a heavyset man, Hoyal said.

The Salt Lake Tribune will provide updates as they are made available.
