Police have found a man with severe dementia who walked away from his rehabilitation center on Monday evening.

The Unified Police Department issued an endangered missing person advisory for Bobbie Bond, 76, who was last seen at the Mt. Olympus Rehabilitation Center, 2200 E. 3300 South, in Millcreek, at about 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

By 2 p.m. Tuesday, he was found safe at Westminster College.

He was last seen wearing only a shirt, glasses, suspenders and blue jeans. Bond is 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds with short dark hair.

“Due to Bond’s severe dementia and because this was his first day at the care center, it is believed that he would not know how to find his way back to the center,” police wrote in the advisory. “Bond does not have a cell phone with him.”

Police note that Bond has been missing before but was located by citizens walking along the street. Authorities were especially concerned Tuesday morning because Bond was not dressed for the cold weather.
