Thousands of community volunteers are expected to join Comcast employees and their families Saturday to spruce up 11 Utah parks, schools and housing for the homeless.

An estimated 700 volunteers will be working at The Road Home's main shelter in Salt Lake City and various housing sites, including Palmer Court Apartments, from 8 a.m. to noon.

Registration at the Comcast Cares sites begins at 7 a.m., and the other sites include:


Salt Lake City, West High School, 241 North 300 West.

Holladay, Bonneville Junior High and Spring Lane Elementary, 5330 S.1650 E.

West Jordan, Sunset Ridge Middle School, 8292 S. Skyline Arch and West Jordan City, 8136 South 2700 West.

Riverton, Riverton High School, 12476 S Silverwolf Way.

Taylorsville, Taylorsville High School, Plymouth Elementary, Hartvigsen school, 5220 S. 1470 W.

Provo, Provo High School, 1125 N. University Ave.

Hyrum City, Lincoln Elementary, 90 South Center Street.


South Salt Lake, Central Park, 2825 South 200 East.

Roy City, Emma Russell Park, 5700 South 4300 West.

Nationally, more than 80,000 community and Comcast volunteers will participate in the annual day of service, one of the nation's largest, single-day corporate volunteer efforts.
