Provo • Fire investigators say a pattern is emerging, and they suspect one or more arsonists is responsible for a series of blazes at a neighborhood of vacant duplex homes in north Provo.

Provo Fire Marshal Lynn Schofield told the Daily Herald that one firefighter was treated for smoke inhalation after a Saturday blaze at the complex near the Shops at Riverwoods.

A fire a week earlier destroyed several buildings, and two duplexes burned March 24.

Schofield says the homes have been vacant for at least five years, and authorities are trying to get the property owners and attorneys to secure the property.

He says the fires have been deemed suspicious and that anyone responsible for setting them could face felony charges.
