Utah man dies in I-15 rollover crash
A 19-year-old Brigham City man who may have fallen asleep at the wheel died early Friday when his pickup truck rolled on Interstate 15 near Brigham City.
Mitchell Burton died at about 3:30 a.m. when his northbound truck drifted into the left emergency lane and onto a rumble strip, the Utah Highway Patrol reported
Burton then overcorrected and the truck traveled back across the freeway to the right shoulder, where it rolled once, hitting a sign post.
The truck came to rest upright, and Burton, who apparently was not wearing a seatbelt, was partially ejected, the UHP said.
The cause of the crash was still under investigation, but the UHP said fatigue may have been a factor.
The accident occurred just north of the 1100 South overpass in Brigham City.
