Police are asking for the public's help in identifying to masked men who robbed a Family Dollar store Thursday night.

Police are looking for two armed robbery suspects who held up a Family Dollar store in northwest Salt Lake City Thursday night.

Just before 9 p.m. the two masked black males, one brandishing a weapon, entered the store and ordered both employees and customers to the floor. The pair then forced one of the employees to open the cash drawer, took money and fled the business on foot.

Citing the sensitivity of their ongoing investigation, police declined to identify what sort of weapon the pair had.

One of the suspects was wearing glasses under his mask. Both suspects wore dark clothing.

The robbery is just the latest in a string of hold-ups at Salt Lake County Family Dollar stores. According to the West Valley City Police, two men held up a store 3530 W. 3100 South on March 27. The robbers — described by police as one white man and one black man — brandished a handgun before escaping the store.

One day later, two men with the same description entered another Family Dollar store in West Valley City. The men were “acting suspiciously” so employees reported them to the police. However, the men left the store before officers arrived. The men left in a blue, 1990s GMC Yukon.

Anyone with information on the Salt Lake City robbery is asked to call SLCPD at 801-799-3000. Those with information about the West Valley City incidents can call police at 801-840-4000.
