Who will play for state titles?

The question was answered Friday at the Huntsman Center and Sevier Valley Center.

In the first game of the day at the Huntsman Center, Orem defeated Springville 61-46. The Tigers, who got 20 points, six rebounds and six assists from Quin Peters in the win, will play Bountiful for the Class 4A state title.

Bountiful grinded out a 63-54 win over Olympus. Sam Merrill, a Utah State commit, and Zac Seljaas, who plans to play at BYU, combined for 40 points in the win.

Reigning state champ Lone Peak will get a chance to defend its title after taking down Davis 72-63. BYU commit TJ Haws scored 25 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished five assists in the win.

The Knights will play Pleasant Grove for the 5A title.

Pleasant Grove held off American Fork 68-65 to advance. The Vikings went 17 of 20 from the free-throw line in the second half to oust the Cavemen.

In the 1A tournament, Panguitch sneaked Rich 33-29.

Monticello experienced less resistance in the other semifinal, taking down Duchesne 62-46.

The Buckaroos and Bobcats are scheduled to tip at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Sevier Valley Center.

The 4A and 5A state title games will be played Saturday at the Huntsman Center. The 4A championship game is scheduled to tip at 1:30 p.m., while the 5A title game is scheduled for 4 p.m.

5:50 p.m. • Lone Peak 72, Davis 63

7:30 p.m. • Pleasant Grove 68, American Fork 65

6 p.m. • Panguitch 33, Rich 29

7:40 p.m. • Monticello 62, Duchesne 46
