Type • High-speed quad

Vertical rise • 2,572 feet

Number of runs • 10 with names

Difficulty • Mixture of advanced and intermediate

Why try it • Great skiing below and access to Mineral Basin through the “Bass Hole”

The ride • Easy to reach, right off the Snowbird Center’s back plaza, this relatively new chairlift quickly takes riders to the base of the ridge between Hidden Peak and Mount Baldy. A quick right turn and you’re off to explore the many inviting runs in Peruvian Gulch. A quick left and you’re on the conveyor belt that carries riders through a tunnel that empties into Mineral Basin in American Fork Canyon.

Runs to try

Chip’s Run • A gentle cruiser you can take top to bottom, it gets steeper at the bottom — unless you elect to jump off earlier and take a black-diamond run down.

Phone 3 Shot • With nice steepness and a fall line that dips left to right, it’s well suited to flowing giant slalom turns.

Anderson’s Hill • Much like the Lower Saddle at Alta, this open hillside invites skiers and boarders to pick their favored line down a delightfully steep slope.
