Gordon Hayward and Richard Jefferson scored 17 points each to lead the Jazz to a 109-86 victory over shorthanded Phoenix on Wednesday night at EnergySolutions Arena.

The Suns played without top scorer Goran Dragic, who missed the game because of an ankle injury.

The Jazz made eight of their first 11 shots, including five straight to start the game. They built an 18-11 lead before Gerald Green scored 10 points in a four-minute span to keep the Suns close.

It was 28-25 heading into the second quarter, when Utah converted six of seven possessions and opened a 40-31 lead with 6:36 left in the half.

After Phoenix got back within one, Hayward scored five points in the final 2:45 and Utah closed on an 11-3 run for a 53-44 lead.

The Jazz broke away in the opening 4:15 of the fourth quarter. Diante Garrett scored nine points and Hayward added four, including two on an emphatic drive-and-dunk, to highlight a 17-9 run.
