A two-alarm fire threatened a Salt Lake City apartment building Sunday night.

The fire was reported about 8:15 p.m. at the City Park Apartments, located at 786 N. 900 West. The fire had started in the bathroom of a second-story apartment and spread to the apartment directly above it, said fire department spokesman Jasen Asay.

Firefighters had the flames under control soon after they arrived, though it took about half an hour to make sure the fire had not spread into any other walls of the building, Asay said.

Besides the fire damage to the two apartments, six apartments suffered smoke damage. No one was hurt.

Investigators determined that a fan in the bathroom started the accidental fire, according to a news release.
