Rick Egan | The Salt Lake Tribune Teams of humans race through downtown Salt Lake City in the urban Iditarod, pulling shopping carts and making rest stops along the way at local pubs and clubs, Saturday, March 1, 2014.

The Urban Iditarod is just like the real one in Alaska except there are no dogs or sleds and is only about 4 miles long.

On Saturday, teams of humans raced through downtown Salt Lake City, pulling shopping carts and making rest stops along the way at local pubs and clubs.

This year’s race marked the event’s seventh year, held on the first Saturday of March.
