DVD • The Lawrence factor is at work in “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” a sequel that’s more exciting and involving than the first movie.

Yes, Jennifer Lawrence is dynamic, again, as Katniss Everdeen, who discovers that winning the do-or-die televised spectacle with friend and potential love interest Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) isn’t the end of things — not when President Snow (Donald Sutherland) sees her as a symbol of rebellion and plots to stop her by throwing her and Peeta back in the arena for an all-star Hunger Games.

The other Lawrence is the director, Francis Lawrence (“I Am Legend”), who ramps up the emotional stakes and pumps up the action.
