Sundance Film Festival • The festival runs daily through Jan. 26 at various venues in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance Resort. More information: www.sundance.org/festival/.

When: 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday and Monday

Admission: Adults $10, children 7-12 and seniors 62 and over $6 (children 12 and under are admitted free with a paying adult on Sunday and Monday)

U.S. Grand Prix freeskiing • Many of the world’s best freeskiers will compete in halfpipe and slopestyle as they try to qualify for their countries’ Olympic freeskiing teams. Utah’s Animals • On the first Saturday of every month, the natural history museum allows visitors to get up close and personal with critters. Animals on hand this Saturday include the Great Basin gopher snake, North American bullfrog and Great Basin Spadefoot toad. More information, www.nhmu.utah.edu/utahs-animals.

Andy the Condor’s birthday • Tracy Aviary is celebrating Andy the Condor’s 55th birthday with crafts, nose-to-beak encounters with South American birds like Andy, cake and an opening of presents by Andy. More information, www.tracyaviary.org.

16th Annual Bluff International Balloon Festival • Thirty balloons are scheduled to fly in this year’s festival. Scheduled events include a 5 p.m. Friday Navajo taco benefit dinner, 3 p.m. Saturday arts fair and 5:30 p.m. Saturday glow-in and a Sunday sunrise flight over Valley of the Gods.
