The LDS Church has long been vague about the reasons behind the ban on ordaining blacks into its priesthood. That changed this week with a statement on its website explaining the prohibition stemmed from prevailing racist attitudes rather than divine inspiration.

On Friday at 12:15 p.m., church members and commentators Marvin Perkins, Dr. Rob Foster, Max Mueller and Salt Lake Tribune reporter Peggy Fletcher Stack join Jennifer Napier-Pearce to talk about the statement and how the faithful are responding.
