There was one possible way by which Utah and other football programs in the Pac-12 South could have benefited from USC's hiring of Steve Sarkisian, but that's been eliminated. If Washington had hired UCLA's Jim Mora to replace Sarkisian, that move definitely would have weakened the Bruins. But just as Sarkisian was being introduced as USC's coach Tuesday, UCLA was announcing that Mora would stay. The school's recommitment to the coaching staff and other aspects of the operation will only strengthen UCLA's program. Utah's 2014 schedule also got tougher when Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota said he was staying in school. That means Mariota will visit Rice-Eccles Stadium with the Ducks next season, as will Sarkisian's Trojans.
